Rick Ross Vs. Young Jeezy Is Kinda Lame

So Rick Ross and Young Jeezy have beef. Over what? I’m not exactly sure. Apparently Jeezy rocked over Rick Ross’s “(B.M.F.) Blowin’ Money Fast” instrumental and retitled it “Death B4 Dishonor” with some poignant lines that most felt were shots fired at Rozay. The line in question went a little something like this:

“How you Blowin’ Money Fast?/ You don’t know the crew/ Oh, you part of the fam?/ Sh*t, I never knew.”

Sounds like a direct shot to me. But according to Jeezy, it wasn’t a diss towards anyone. As a matter of fact, he vehemently denied dissing Rick Ross was even worth his time when speaking to MTV.

“Subliminals, for what?” the Snowman added. What’s understood ain’t gotta be said. I didn’t think people would take the record like that. I did it like I would have any Shawty Lo record, any Rocko record, whoever. I got on [Ross's beat] and did it like how I do it, the best way I know how. I don’t know if because the BMF situation is for real for me that everybody is like, ‘Ooh. Oh, sh–.’ Twitter is a muthaf—a, by the way.”

The Bawse didn’t take the thinly veiled dis in stride and fired right back with “The Summas Mine.”

“You throwin’ up sets but you really from Cleveland, f*ck, boy…/ See I broke it down like a quarter key, B*tch/ I run the south, I’m who you wanna be/ The summa’s mine/ Every time you turn around they spinnin’ one of mine…/ Self-made, you just affiliated/ You’re a waterboy, really you entertainment/ I’m livin’ large, this n*ggas been a mark/ They used his credit cards just to get they rental cars.”

It’s not rocket science but perhaps these two should spend more time rapping about things they usually rap about rather than each other. Simply put, diss records aren’t either of these rappers strong points. But furthermore, why the hell are these two dissing each other?

It seems like the beef is over who keeps it more real, which is downright corny since neither rapper knows the others background like that. But I would like to say that Ross is treading on thin ice with this one.

Rick Ross questioning Young Jeezy’s credibility is like Nicky Barnes wearing a “Stop Snitchin’” t-shirt. He doesn’t really want to go there, does he? Perhaps he forgot he was outed a few years ago for being a corrections officer who said that the real Noriega owed him one hundred favors.

Maybe Jay-Z is going to have to play the peacekeeper before these two do something silly. We’ve already seen what Rick Ross does when upset. How can we forget his beat down of DJ Vlad a few years back? As for Jeezy, his crew was involved in a beef with Gucci Mane‘s crew where things went terribly wrong and an alleged Jeezy associate was shot by Gucci. This isn’t to say things here will turn ugly, rather, this is to say there really is no point in fighting over who is “realer.” How shall these two settle the score? Perhaps have a snowball fight using cocaine? A dope dealing marathon, maybe? The options are just as silly as the beef. So why don’t they dead it and spare us a corny back and forth where the loser is the listener?
