After a year of scrutiny in regards to the Taylor Swift “I’m gonna let you finish” incident at last years MTV’s Video Music Awards, Kanye West has officially been confirmed to perform at this year’s awards ceremony. While Kanye publicly apologized for the interrupting Taylor Swift’s Best Female Video award speech, Taylor still says that Kanye has never personally apologized for lamenting about Beyonce not winning the award. Despite his public absence, which recently ended, MTV mentioned that West “has appeared at every VMA show since 2004, winning Best Male Video in 2005 (for 'Jesus Walks'), and Best Special Effects in 2008 ('Good Life')." MTV's Video Music Awards will take place in Los Angeles at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday, September 12, at 9 p.m.

Reality TV personality Tila Tequila suffered cuts to her face after she was attacked by a crowd during the annual Gathering of the Juggalos organized by rap group Insane Clown Posse. Police are investigating the incident, which occurred yesterday (August 14th) in Hardin County, Illinois. According to Tila Tequila and witnesses, the rowdy crowd threw firecrackers at her, and she was pelted with beer bottles and rocks when she was on the stage. Thousands of people then chased her back to her SUV, where the crowd smashed out the windows of her SUV. Tila Tequila is planning to sue the organizers of the festival.

Talib Kweli and Hi-tek talk early years of Kanye West's career

Hard Knock Tv's Devi Dev and Nick Huff Barili talk to Talib Kweli and Hi-Tek talk about the early years of Kanye West's career. From Kanye opening up for Kweli to labels not wanting to sign him as a rapper. Kweli says that people didn't see Kanye's vision as an artist and just wanted his beats. Kweli says that he knew "College Drop Out" was a classic when he first heard it. Hi-Tek adds that Kanye is a genius in the same way that Dr Dre is.

I personally remember getting the white label vinyl of "Through The Wire"/ "Two Words" that Kanye paid to press up himself because at that time Def Jam and The Roc weren't pushing him out. I also remember being at the Def Jam office's in NY (during CMJ) with the Rap Attack DJ's telling them that they needed to get behind that record because we were all getting great feedback at our college radio stations. Ye' has come a long way since then! -NHB

Kanye West Reveals Album, Single Details During Live Chat

A mere 140 characters can't contain Kanye West. The Twitter newcomer took to another digital medium Friday afternoon (August 6) when he broadcast his first Ustream session from Korea, during which he spoke from a hotel balcony as the sun rose behind him.

"I'm bout to get on to answer questions and chip away at my mystique one humanizing question at a time," he tweeted before going live.

West was particularly open during the 25-minute chat, revealing tentative dates for the release of his forthcoming album ("sometime in November," he said) and the follow-up single to "Power" (either "Lost in the World" or "All of the Lights," which he said could arrive in 20 days).

The Chicago MC was killing time until he had to depart for the airport. He was upbeat throughout the chat and displayed his wacky humor, especially when he alerted his viewers that his outfit was the same one he wore in his "Flashing Lights" clip.

He also touched on his latest video, the brief 90-second clip for "Power." West said his initial plans were to create a 30- to 40-minute mini-film. But once the song leaked, he had to move fast on a new treatment.

"We vibed out in my house, and I had all these references of Renaissance paintings," he told his followers. "I always wanted to re-create the Sistine Chapel. This is not the full re-creation [though]. I still might want to do that."

Watch Kanye's live stream as he dives deeper into his new video, why he decided to follow one person on twitter and his next single....

Live from Korea, and with 20min before he needs to jump on a plane, Kanye speaks to the internet masses about ....

His Influence - Rotating through the 1000’s of pictures that he has on his laptop Kanye reveals how imagery and movies (Avatar, Children of Men, There Will be Blood) influence the production process in his artwork.

Following One Person on Twitter - “… Feeling random, ya know. My moves are a little bit random sometimes. I’m not really that calculated.”

His Competition - “…I’m not really thinking about other Rappers albums. I’m trying to make my music compete with that McQueen Collection. I’m not saying that it does I’m just saying that is the goal….”

“When I think of competition it’s like I try to create against the past. I think about Michelangelo, Picasso the Pyramids. That’s the reason why I put 5000 hours into a song like Power.”
